In a bid to empower the youths with relevant skills required to profit from the social media revolution, the Blessing Abgomhere Foundation, on Saturday November 5th coverned an empowerment programme which was targeted at the youths.
The empowerment programme had the youths lectured by resource persons drawn from across the country, on the use of the social media for profit making ventures, thus being an instrument for job creation and employment. The programme which had thousands of Etsako youths in attendance, took place at Auchi polytechnic’s auditorium
It was a busy weekend for members of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Auchi branch as the Association held her inaugural Annual Lecture/Dinner. The event which attracted members of the public, practicing lawyers, law students as well as members of the Bench had as it theme, ‘Making the Legal Profession a Paradigm of Change in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges and Prospect’.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Auchi branch of Nigeria Bar Association, Barrister D.A. Alegbe hoped that the occasion would provide another opportunity for all to participate in the ongoing quest for a blue print to guide the nation along the highway of development.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole wedding came as big news. The Edo State Governor, on Friday, May 15, 2015 walked down the aisle with his new bride, Lara Fortes, a model from Cape Verde at the Etsako West Local Government Council Marriage Registry in Auchi area of Edo State. Reception followed at his country home at Iyamoh. The event had dignitaries like the President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President-Elect, Professor Osinbajo, Femi Otedola, Jim Ovia, Nasir el Rufai, Kanayo O Kanayo, Aliko Dangote, Cecil Hammond and others in attendance. Guest were thrilled my music star, Patoranking.

The Auchi-Jattu-Afashio-Ikabigbo dual carriage way, constructed by the Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s administration was commissioned yesterday by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar the III.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Sultan charged leaders to place the well-being of Nigerian citizens on their priority list at all time so as to help the citizen have a sense of belonging.
The sultan who urged Nigerians to live together as one stressed that prayers is the major tool to bring the various crisis
The maiden edition of the Auchi Eghogho festival started yesterday (Friday, 3rd of October 2014) night with an open air pre-party which took place at the Ikelebe sports Arena in the heart of Auchi Kingdom.
The party which was well attended by members of the various age groups in Auchi kingdom served as a platform for the various age groups to distinguish themselves through various forms of cultural displays.
Among the activities that added colour to the just concluded Eid de Fitr celebration in Auchi Kingdom was the turbaning of Prince Hassan Kadiri, the Chairman of Etsako west Local government area, as the Dania of Auchi Kingdom by His Royal Highness, Alhaji H.A Momoh, the Otaru of Auchi Kingdom.
The ceremony took place on the second day of the Eid celebration (Monday, 28th of July 2014) at the palace of the Otaru of Auchi.
THE rocky town of Igarra, Edo State, wore a festive mood when High Chief Joseph Mayaki Akpeji (JP) entertained guests from far and near to mark his installation as the Otu of Igarra and head of Anona Clan. He also celebrated his 81st birthday with various traditional troupes performing.
The outing reminds one of late Nigerian and world acclaimed writer and poet, Chinua Achebe who said… “Until the lions have their own historians, history will always glorify the hunter”.
